Start the hunt in Oria
A short and simple video about what Oria is and why it is a useful search engine for new and old students

There are countless instructional videos for Oria* in which we mechanically explain to students how to do a simple search, an advanced search, Boolean operators, or how to narrow and sort result lists with printed and digital literature. To put it mildly, we overflow with good and well-meant tips for students in these videos.
But do we take it for granted that students know the search engine, or why they should choose it over other better-known search services?
This is a short teaser, which places Oria in students' awareness and becomes an option when the need for academic literature arises.
After watching this video, you should know that:
- Oria is a specialised search engine for printed and digital academic literature
- Oria is a good starting point when you are beginning a project or an assignment
- Oria retrieves relevant documents from various databases and catalogues
- as a student you have free access to what you find in Oria
- Oria gives you information about where you can find printed and digital literature
*In Norway, Oria is a shared search portal for the combined holdings of most Norwegian research and academic libraries. Oria currently uses Ex Libris’ discovery system Primo.
The video is part of the course DIGI101 Digital source criticism at Universitetet i Bergen.
