Open Science Guide from DTU Library

DTU Library has developed a tool to support researchers working with Open Science. The tool provides guidelines and information for researchers looking for tips on what to do when choosing a journal for their papers, getting awareness about how to use a Creative Commons license and what to consider when publishing, both in scientific papers and research data. The guide gives an overview, including links for further investigation.

The tool can be used as part of the training or instruction you deliver to PhD students and other faculty. At DTU Library, we use it as a ‘conversation piece’ for more interactive presentations and dialogue, especially in our webinar called “Conversations on things to consider when publishing”.

Feel free to use the guide as you like, but be aware that some links will only be accessible with a DTU Login.

DTU Library Open Science Guide

The tool is organized into 3 phases, in relation to Publications and Research Data:

  • Planning your research (funder requirements, FAIR principles, literature searching, using existing data, etc.)
  • Conducting your research (choose a journal publisher, cover the cost of publishing Open Access, keep data safe and prepare for publication, etc.)
  • Publishing your research (register your publication and data, publish Open Access, choose an open license, etc.)

The Open Science Guide is available for all at https://findit.dtu.dk/openscience
